Ponta Do Ouro Diving Information, Dive Sites & Dive Maps Minimize

Ponta Do Ouro Diving:
Just a short boat ride out from the protected bay of Ponta do Ouro, is the start of one of the most amazing reef systems imaginable. Because of this protected bay, unlike Ponta Malongane, or many of the other launch sites off the Mozambican coast where boats launch directly into the surf, one is normally assured of an easy, comfortable ride out to sea.

The dive sites already discovered cater for all dive certification levels and vary in depth from 10 meters to 40 meters. Some of these are already become well known to International and South African Divers. For example Bass City, with its family of large, tame, resident Potato Bass, and Pinnacles with it multitude of Game Fish, and regular sighting of Sharks.

Mozambique was caught up in a bitter civil war for over 26 years, with the result that there was no diving in the area for all this time. Because these reefs have not (yet!) been subjected to the same diver pressure as Sodwana, or other dive destinations in the Indian Ocean, they are still in pristine condition. With your assistance we hope to keep them this way. The fish life is unbelievable and daily sightings of Dolphins and Whale Sharks are common. Sightings of Marlin and sailfish have also been recorded!
These spectacular sightings of fish life occur all year round, although obviously with greater frequency during the summer months October to April.

Equipment Hire
The cost of the Dive Packages includes air fills. It does not include Cylinder or Equipment Rental. This is however available for hire should you require it.
It is strongly recommended that you book Dives and any Rental gear when booking your accommodation.
